SETISIA |
|
Young hunter Tellimakis is from a small community existing in complete isolation from the rest of humanity, cut off by distance and the natural barrier of a great mountain range. Aware of his people's history, he knows that his ancestors escaped from their country on the far side of the mountains during a time of great strife. As Tellimakis approaches adulthood, he is consumed with curiosity as to the fate of the great civilisation left behind by his forebears, and sets off for the huge mountains in an attempt to rediscover the ancient Kingdom beyond. He finds many surprises on the way, not least among them, the charming Setisia. |

Comments on Setisia by some of its readers: (Quotes from E-mail letters sent to this site). HI, I am just responding to your request for info on your readers - I LOVED your novel, read it all in two sittings - it was original and engaging, without the usual predictability of fantasy-type novels. You are very talented! As for me, I'm a 27 year old female from Toronto, Canada - maybe a little too old to still be reading fantasy books, but what can I say, I'm an addict! Please let me know if you write anything further! Laura Hi, my name is Tim and I loved the story. I live in Northwestern Oklahoma and found the story while searching for free fantasy novels online. I especially liked the way that Telli and Setisia met in the forest, and how you weren't afraid to use very little violence in your story. Thanks, Tim
Hello, A wonderful story! Very well written and imaginative. Thank you for posting it :) I read your book, and I loved the story. It parallels the real world enough to make it believable. When I was young I enjoyed the movies of Sinbad and Hercules. This story reminds me of the type of fiction that I like to read and see in movies. Something that includes something magical but not ridiculous. Thanks for a great story. Rose (I am American from the southwest part of the US) hello from mississippi I have just finished reading this charming work and wanted to express my pleasure in finding it. I now have many more characters to people my imagination with, and I gladly join Telli, Setisia, Rhyll, Helli, and the others to the ranks of Tom Bombadil and Eustace Scrubb in my affection. (The contributions of J.R.R.Tolkein and C.S.Lewis, respectively- two of your former countrymen I understand.) The figments of fantasy were blended with the realities of human society to good effect. I am a US citizen- student at a university in east Texas, studying History/Political Science. I enjoy reading almost any type of fiction (except horror), though romance and fantasy must be my favorites. Overall, this book just hit a really responsive chord in me- I liked the sense of humour portrayed, the value placed on honor, intelligence, and friendship, the idea of living life to the full, and especially the wonderful new world shown in classic fantasy style. Best wishes in your writing career, Corrie To say that I enjoyed your novel "Setisia" is a decided understatement. The detailed descriptions of both the characters and their environment left me with little to have to imagine on my own. I have long loved to travel along the paths of other's minds as they carry me along in their fantasy worlds. The novel was not overly long as to make reading through it cumbersome. My only question is...where is the sequel? Thank you for an entertaining 3 evenings! Bea - Upper Michigan, USA. Hi I've just finished reading your book and I must say it was one of the best fantasy fiction books I have read. You have the gift of creating a believable world ...... I eagerly await the next book about Telli and Setisia. A little personal info: I'm a 24 year old seismic analyst from Pretoria, South Africa who loves escaping from the real world into the worlds that authors such as yourself create. Many thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable read and best of luck for the future. Bryn PS: One last thing....I really enjoyed the history of Allenth. I'd love to see a book on it. ... I live near Houston, TX. I enjoyed your story immensely and was sad to see it wrapped up so quickly at the end. I aspire to write stories and paint mental pictures for people and I appreciate your ability to do so. I have recommended Setisia to a few friends who I knew would enjoy it as well. I am curious what brought you to write a fantasy/adventure story. Is it other great authors, history, or games? A toast to one of the best novels I've read. I read this wonderful story this afternoon. I find the humor between the principle characters to be as my family are with one another. A clean imaginative wonderful and believable plot and story line that allows you to live each moment as it happens and want to peek ahead to see if all is as you feel it's going to be, truly a refreshing and winning world ripe for sequels, prequels and parallel worlds full of unstated love and wonders. Thank you for sharing your talents with the rest of us. Please please don't stop with just this one. Sincerely: David Hello,I just thought I'd let you know how much I enjoyed your story. It was really wonderful! I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and I have a lot of free time at work so I usually look for stories or novels to read. I'm happy I ran into yours. Do you ever plan on making a sequel? Maybe [a character] comes back to cause havoc when Setisia and Telli have gotten a bit older? Again thanks for the good read. Sincerely,CourtneyDear Author- I just wanted to say that you did a great job and I loved it VERY much. Recommended it to my friends (hope you don't mind HA HA). Kept me tied to the computer all day.. Ever think of writing about any further journeys of the couple? thanks so much, it was GREAT~~ Amory (Montana) I thought it was a really good book and have nothing bad to say about it. I hope there will be more books that come after it! I really liked the characters and the ideas. It was suspenseful, exciting, and i liked the way the characters were friendly toward each other and cared for one another. I thought that the idea of having realistic characters mixed in with the real life things was a neat idea too. Like the tiger and the khrelling they were both real and non real. I was glad to know that the khrelling werent really, reallly, mean. I also liked the stories that they told like the history of the kingdom and the story of the goddess who the two gods were fighting over. It was a story in a story and i liked that. I dont know what else to say besides that it was a wonderful book! thanks for writing it! Sarah Setisia is a dandy story needing neither sex nor extreme language to hold my interest. It contained but one or two (small) grammatical errors and that is important to an A++ speller such as myself. Imagine my delight at finding such treasures could be had online. Duu-uude -- Awesome. I am a forty-ish and happily married female, a lifelong resident of Central Texas.......... I shall look for your titles in bookstores so that I may purchase a small interest in the future of an author who gave me pleasure. Logan Bravo. The most vivid novel I have ever read, it takes a lot to grip me to a fantasy book but you did it from the start. I managed 10 chapters the first day and 11 today, during work of course. But it was absolutely amazing. I can not criticise it one bit, you my friend have the talent of writing a novel, you created a world that was so imaginable to me. You should really get it published and please send me the next instalment if you decide to continue the story (Which I think you should!), it seems hard for me to find a good book, not a lot fit the criteria but yours certainly did. Really well done, I hope every one has told you the same. I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this book. I often read it over lunch, to take a small break from the hectic office. I'm not sure what information you were interested in regarding your readers, but I am from Philadelphia, PA and work in Camden NJ. I'm 24 and working on my masters in Political Science. I work in economic development and found the points on trade very interesting in your novel. You have a wonderful gift. I wish you all the luck, but I doubt that luck has anything to do with it! - Kati Hi, I have read Setisia, and wish to thank you for writing such a wonderful novel! In fact, it is the first novel I've read entirely through since some time now. You were right with the suggestion, just to try and read a little bit of the book and not be prejudiced ... "Setisia" kept me reading, the whole time thrilled with excitement. Also, the language it is written in, is not "too easy" to understand (I had to look up several words in the dictionary to understand them), but that is just fine, because I get bored with books which don't challenge me and keep the same boring plain style the whole lenght through. The only thing I disliked is that Setisia keeps calling Telli "slave" or "goblin" even in the last chapter. You should write another novel. I'd defenitely read it. Can you suggest me any more books in your style?....... ....I live in the South of Germany, in Munich. (Probably you've already noticed, that I am no native speaker)........ Again, thanks for the novel and the decision to donate it to the Internet community! Max This is the first full length story I've read online and like any stories of a superior caliber, I finished it in one sitting - and it is now 5:46am here in rainy/sunny (varies daily as of late) Santa Monica, California. Ack! I originally intended to read only until I'm sufficiently tired to doze off! :) My compliments for writing a great story and for publishing it, free of charge, online. I must say I totally love the Setisia character and the spice that the gypsies has added to the storyline! I disagree strongly with the comment "Max" made regarding his dislike concerning the usage of "goblin" as a term of affection. I thought it added an invaluable charm to the character.... Ah, good nig.... err.... morning. RupertWell done! I'm a 46-year-old American with a keen interest in the questions that people ask. The character in your book with whom I most closely identify is the prospector (without the paranoid tendencies). Thank you for a wonderful time! - Polly Very impressive writing, it was a pleasure to read. The story kept me interested the whole way through and the characters were very believable. I like the slight fairytaleish quality to it. It seems the sci-fi and fantasy I have been reading lately are some what morbid and depressing. Thank you so much for putting your time and effort into something for everyone to enjoy. I read it in one day! Thanks again, Jaden-from Washington D.C. USA
Hello, I just finished Setisia. I very much enjoyed it. As several of the other responders commented, it reads a bit like a fairytale. I agree. However, this is one of my favorite aspects of the story. So much of what is written now is dark and edgy, it is VERY refreshing to read a good, well told story with [censored - plot giveaway!] Thank you very much for sharing this story with me. I am a 21 college student studying Computer Engineering. I live in Upland, a small town in the middle of a corn field, in the middle-eastern part of the USA. The story was read and recommended to me by my previous roommate. I hope you write more. Thanks again, ~David What can I say to show my gratification for this story? Thank you just does not seem enough. I am a 19 year old Indian girl residing in Malaysia. I am typing this message at 4.20a.m. right after reading the last chapter. It was so addictive that I forwent my sleep. It was a spectacular story. It had all the important elements. The romantic part of it could be more developed though. But hey, I guess I am just a romantic at heart. Today is one of the best/worthwiled sleepless night I had so far. My appreciations for you. Cheerio. Shawna I enjoyed your novel, it kept me quite glued to the computer. I should have been working really! I think you could and should write a sequel! It is quite light reading but very enjoyable. I don't know whether you want to but I think it is good enough to be published. By the way I live in Milan (Italy) but am half English. Let me know if there is more of your writing online! God bless you, Stephen I have just finished reading your novel online and it is the most enchanting tale I have read in some time. Not only would I love to read more of your work, but definitely think you should get it published. I found your story earlier today and have read it from start to finish in one sitting, had to know how it ended before I went to bed. :) Jewel loved the story!!! That was truly a captivating novel!!! I enjoyed the twists that you put into the plot and the way that things really came together for the characters. I was riveted to the whole story and found it hard to tear myself from the story. If you have any more works online or in print, I would love to know the names of those so I may continue to enjoy your work. I...am located in east Tennessee. I would very much like to hear from you and thank you for the novel. jeremy
